The Chevrolet Onix is a car model of the automobile manufacturer General Motors since 2012 . 

History 

Produced and exclusively for the  the South American markets. A notchback version of the Onix is ​​offered as a Chevrolet prism .

The model is based on the GM Gamma platform and is thus removed with the Opel Corsa C related. As a drive there are two in-line four cylinder - Otto engines with 1.0 l and 1.4 l capacity can be selected, on the Flexfuel clock mode and with a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission are connected.

The vehicle was formally presented in October 2012 at the Salão Internacional do Automóvel do São Paulo  and 2012 in November introduced to the market.Mid-2016 the model got one facelift ,  the old model but remains as Onix Joy available. Since the facelift shall be named Onix Activ offered a model with modified bumpers.In Colombia, the notchback model Chevrolet Prism since 2018 as Chevrolet Onix Sedán also offered. 

The model is available depending on the market in three trim levels, as well as several special editions. The basic equipment is called, as usual at Chevrolet LS , LT and LTZ are above . Two airbags and ABS are standard on all versions.
