The Chevrolet Trailblazer first generation is a mid-size SUV of the US automaker General Motors from 2001, which was offered by the Chevrolet brand in the first generation only on the North American market.
History
The TrailBlazer, which was launched in the spring of 2001 the formal public premiere took place at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), was offered with rear-wheel and optional four-wheel drive both automatic engagement and the more traditional " High" and "Low" gearings . From spring 2002, the EXT was available with extended wheelbase and seven seats. It was of 201 kW of an inline six cylinder engine with 4.2 liter displacement and a maximum power (273 hp) or a 5.3-liter V8 engine with a maximum power of 225 kW (306 hp) , From 2005, an SS model ( Super Sport ) was also available with a 6.0-liter V8 engine with a maximum output of 298 kW (400 hp) and 536 Nm of maximum torque; accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 5.8 seconds. The TrailBlazer features an independent front suspension system with, and a five-link rear suspension setup.
An LTZ version,that features leather interior, Bose six-speaker premium amplified sound system was also available.The SS model (Super Sport) features an 6.0L LS2 V8 engine with all-wheel-drive system and a G86 LSD and front and rear fascias with side skirts as standard.
In the fall of 2005, the Trailblazer was a superficial facelift upgraded. End of 2008, the production was discontinued in Moraine , Ohio ,the EXT in Oklahoma, in 2006. Due to overproduction, the model was thereafter still available for a while.From 2008 to 2012, only the Chevrolet crossbeam with self-supporting body was available in roughly the same size in the USA . Only in Russia the Trailblazer was further built there by the Avtotor in Kaliningrad .
