The Fiat 1500 Spider of the Italian car brand Fiat . was a produced between 1963 and 1966 as atwo-door convertible .
History
The Fiat 1500 Spider replaced the predecessor Fiat 1200 Cabriolet (118G). His Pininfarina body got, among other things, a new front. The largely unchanged chassis received front disc brakes . The most important change was the engine, which came from the sedan Fiat 1500 of 1961: a four-cylinder OHV inline engine with 1481 cc and 67 hp. The top speed was about 155 km/h.
Technical changes 1965 the engine of the Fiat 1500 C with 75 HP and the new five-speed gearbox was installed (118 K), with a maximum speed of approx. 160 km/h.Successor was from 1966, the Fiat 124 Spider , who had only the five-speed gearbox in common with his predecessor.

Also, the sister model Fiat 1600 S (OSCA) convertible equipped with the same Pininfarina body has been redesigned with the 1.6-liter double-camshaft engine from OSCA. It differed apart from the engine of the 1500 Cabriolet by the "four-headlight front" and a clearly high-quality equipped interior. Engine and chassis corresponded to the predecessor model (1600 S, 1962-1963). In 1965, as in the 1500 Cabriolet in the 1600 S, the new five-speed gearbox was installed. In addition to the Fiat Cabriolet, there was also a 1500 Coupe and 1600 S Coupe, but was marketed by Pininfarina itself under its own label.
