History

It was a car model with three-speed gearbox and four-cylinder side valve engine . 63.5 mm bore and 92.5 mm strokeyielded calculated 1172 cc displacement . For the vehicle tax 1157 cc were calculated. The engine produced 34 hp / 25 kW (at 4250 rpm).

The Ford Eifel was produced in various body shapes,as a sedan with two doors, as a convertible with two or four seats, as a roadster and as a pickup truck).

Ford Germany built cars in Cologne since 1931, and from 1933 also the small models specially developed for Europe. The Ford Eifel became the best-selling model in the German Reich . The sales figures moved up again, as different body shapes from 1937 by other German companies such as Karmann ( Osnabrück ), Stoewer ( Szczecin ), Hebmüller ( Barmen ), Drauz ( Heilbronn ), Ambi-Budd (Berlin), glasses ( Dresden ), Hornig & Co ( Meerane ) or Ihle( Bruchsal ) were produced.

The vehicles had 2286 mm wheelbase and 1143 mm gauge . Saloon and Cabrio limousine were 4000 mm long, 1450 mm wide, 1600 mm high and weighed 820 kg. The convertible was slightly narrower at 1420 mm, with 1420 mm flatter and weighed 835 kg. The roadster is 3850 mm long, 1430 mm wide, 1465 mm high and 725 kg empty weight specified.

Between 1934 and 1937, the almost identically constructed Ford C Junior model was built in Great Britain and Spain .A total of 61,495 Ford Eifel, more than half of the entire Ford production in Cologne since 1933. Today, there are still about 237 Ford Eifel worldwide.
