The Honda BR-V is an SUV made by the Japanese automaker Honda based on the Honda Mobilio and sold in emerging markets such as India , Indonesia or South Africa .
History
In August 2015, the concept car Honda BR-V Prototype was presented at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. As of January 2016, the production vehicle was a five- or seven-seater mainly in Southeast Asia introduced. Since October 2016 is also available in South Africa. mid-2018, the market launch took place in Mexico .The abbreviation BR-V stands for B old R unabout V ehicle .
The SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 88 kW (120 hp). The BR-V is only available with front wheel drive . As standard, a 6-speed manual transmission , optionally a continuously variable transmission is available. Only in India is also a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 74 kW (100 hp) in the trade.
