The Renault Scénic II , appeared in 2003 ,This is the second generation of the French Renault minivan . Following the success of the first generation, the concept of compact minivan is largely taken over improved by other car manufacturers so that Scénic must now face the other competition. The Opel Zafira and Citroen Xsara Picasso are thus its main rivals.

Unlike the previous generation, the Scénic II is available in two versions: a short 5-seater version of 4.30  m and a 7-seater long version of 4.49  m , the Scénic II opts for a more dynamic silhouette while preserving the larger habitability.

While, following the success of the Renault Scénic I , competition has largely monopolized the concept of compact minivan. The Scénic II, however, adopts a more dynamic profile, marked by taut lines, and gives off an impression of robustness .Noticeably different from the first generation, the angular features .Inside, the dashboard design is entirely new, while the Scénic I suffered from a finish that left something to be desired, because of production rates to meet the many orders, the quality of the finishes and materials of this Scénic is improved and also underwent a light exterior facelift in 2006 .
Renault Scénic II Service Guide (2003-2009)

The Renault Scénic II has dimensions roughly similar to its predecessor. Barely longer but especially wider, it retains an "excellent" compromise between livability and space. The Scénic II offers for the time, in its category, the best legroom for rear passengers. Regarding the trunk, the Scénic II sees its capacity increase twenty liters.
 Renault Scénic II dimensions
The 5 seats double space once the three rear seats removed. The volume of the trunk is thus close to that of the Citroën Picasso but below the Volkswagen Touran which stands out with a volume of 695 to 1990 liters .Taking over the running gear of the Mégane, the Scénic offers a good road behavior thanks to dampers balanced between firmness and comfort. On the other hand, it is subject to a slight roll during tight turns .
Renault Scénic II Repair Manual (2003-2009)

The engines developed by Renault in the early 2000s have several mechanical weaknesses sometimes severe that are also due to a poor choice of the maintenance schedule made by the manufacturer (especially engine oil change). These problems are well known to the brand since in the spring of 2004 are put in place after-sales measures to correct these defects .
The engine Renault 1.9 dCi type F9Q800  in particular, is affected with problems of reliability of its turbocharger which can cause the breakage of the engine . Renault, however, takes care of the repair only if the car has less than 150 000  km  . Engine modifications from mid-2005 have improved the reliability of the latter type F9Q812 which is still demanding on maintenance. The 1.5 dCi engine can also be affected with the same problems.
