The Renault Vel Satis is a car designed by the French car manufacturer Renault in the 2000's .

Vel Satis is the model that succeeded Safrane in the Renault range . Unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show of 2001, it is characterized by its high  line, which allows to promote interior space .

Marketed from 2002 and depending on the model offer good levels of comfort and safety - including a score of 5 stars in the test Euro NCAP - The Vel Satis is nevertheless was a commercial failure  because of its style and difficulties encountered on some of the first models, as well as the confusion with the Renault Avantime , despite significant communication efforts on the part of Renault.

The production of the Vel Satis was stopped on November 12, 2009, after being manufactured to 62,201 copies built. The Vel Satis was a commercial failure and also a financial loss for Renault, which had invested 630 million euros in the project and the industrialization of the model.
