Excalibur Cars was a British manufacturer of sports kit car automobiles .
History
Clive Clark founded the company in West Looe in the county of Cornwall . He started producing automobiles and kits . The brand name was Excalibur . 1996 ended the production. Overall, emerged around 32 copies.
The only model was the Crusader was a 1960s style sports car . The prototype was based on the chassis of the Volkswagen Beetle . The series models had a special steel frame, parts such as suspension and gearbox came from the Ford Cortina. The body was made of fiberglass . Initially, only a coupe with 2 + 2 seats was on offer. In 1992, an open version followed. four-cylinder engines from 1300 cc engine capacity and six-cylinder engines up to 2900 cc from Ford . As of 1992, was also the V8 engine available from Rover .
