Vincent Cars was a British kit car manufacture originally from Turville Heath, Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, England UK that started in the early 1980s.
History
They built kit type cars also available fully built in the style of classic or more modern roadsters, The cars built from 1982 until the late 2010s under different names and places including Swindon Sportscars and Dwornik Engineering in the Midlands.
The Hurricane car was one of the few cars available to build from the Spitfire and GT 6 mechanical parts at the time, using a simple bodyshell replacement. this even includes the original seats, folding hood as far as weather equipment is concerned, this can be taken from the donor car, although the Mark 3 Spitfire is the best one to use for the neatest stowage when not in use., wind-up windows and the windscreen.
complete turn-key car available from £4500.The kit was priced at £2800 plus VAT, with the complete body available in four versions to suit the Spitfire Mark 1, 2,3 or 4, the GT6 Mark 1 or 2 and the GT6 Mark 3.
The kit consists of a partially- stressed GRP body and part floorplan unit Stressed sections such as the sills are re-in forced by urethane foam-filled box sections and a tubular steel subframe gives additional support for the door hinges, windscreen frame, dashboard and steering column.with a like the spitfire a forward hinged front end, and is supplied with doors and a boot lid.
Engines used are any of the four or six-cylinder Triumph engines can be fitted along with the appropriate gearbox, and the only chassis modification that may be necessary is to fit a DE cambered rear springs or preferably the rear suspension complete from a G T 6 or Vitesse Mark 2 due to the weight reduction.
