Asquith Brothers Limited Automotive manufacturer of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire; United Kingdom From 1985 to 2005.

Asquith Brothers Limited is a British manufacturer of automobiles. The brand name is Asquith.

History

The company was founded on July 30, 1912 in Thornhill near Dewsbury in West Yorkshire. In the 1970s there were attempts with formula racing cars. In 1985 the production of automobiles and kits began.  Michael Asquith Fox heads the company.  A total of about 40 copies have been made up to 2009.

The first model was the first version of the MPH. This was a replica of the Riley MPH as the Vista, a 1930s roadster. The body was made of aluminium. Many parts came from Riley. The new price for a complete vehicle was from £ 40,000. About six copies were made between 1985 and 1999.  In 1989 the second and later the third version added to the range. A spaceframe formed the basis. The fenders and trunk lid were made of fiberglass. Many parts came from the Ford Sierra. The cost of construction was only around £ 20,000. About 30 copies were made by 1999. This model is also still available to order.

The Vista BODY: Hand formed aluminium with all leather trim. Full range of instrumentation.
DIMENSIONS: Track 51 ", wheel base 101 3/4", length 146", height to windscreen 49", height to scuttle 37"
Vista Mk I
CHASSIS: Deep channel section underslung at rear, tubular steel X-members and timber bulkheads.
ENGINE: O.H.V. twin cam-Riley. SUSPENSION: Semi-elliptical springs and beam axles.
GEARBOX: Wilson pre-selector/close ratio silent third.

Vista Mk 11
CHASSIS: Tubular steel space frame. ENGINE: 2.0 twin cam Ford.
SUSPENSION: Front double wishbone, coil spring, tele damper. Rear trailing link, coil spring, tele damper.
GEARBOX: 5 speed all synchro.

The Penny has been on sale since 1999. This is something of a modern take on the Bond Bug, but with four wheels. A motor from the Yamaha R 1 with 170 hp drives the vehicles. So far, around four copies have been made.

Asquith Brothers Limited It is not affiliated with Asquith Motor Company, which uses the same brand name.
