The Chevrolet Montana is a small pickup that General Motors manufactures in Brazil and sells in South America and similar markets. In Mexico, the model is offered as Chevrolet Tornado and in South Africa as Opel or Chevrolet Corsa Utility (GM4300) or Chevrolet Utility (GM4200). The first-generation Montana is based on the gamma platform of the Opel Corsa C (GM4300). The second generation (from 2010) is based on the older GM4200 platform of the Chevrolet Agile.
The Montana was delivered as standard with a 1.4 -Liter four-cylinder Econoflex engine and a 1.8-liter four -cylinder gasoline engine with 16 valves Flex-Fuel (for alcohol operation). For some markets, such as South Africa, there is the vehicle with other engines, such as a 1.4-liter R4 gasoline engine (gasoline only) or a turbocharged 1.7-liter R4 diesel engine from Isuzu. In 2009 there were the Montana in three versions: Conquest, Sport and Arena. The three versions differ in design and optional equipment.
The platform can be loaded according to the manufacturer with 735 kg.
The first generation of the Chevrolet Montana was offered in South Africa from 2004 as Opel Corsa Utility. 2010 was renamed Chevrolet Corsa Utility.
The Montana replaced the model year 2004, the old Chevrolet pickup based on the Opel Corsa B, but under the name Tornado. It was based on the 2011 Opel Corsa C and although the Corsa C since late 2008 in Mexico was no longer offered. Since 2011, the second generation offered. The model is currently being manufactured in São José dos Campos, Brazil. It is assembled from Brazilian parts sets in Mexico and South Africa.
