The Chevrolet Kingswood  second generation was a estate station wagon ,that Chevrolet produced from 1969 to 1972.

History

From the simpler model Kingswood , This differed by its imitation wood on the sides of the vehicle and the tailgate, as well as a slightly more luxurious interior. On a small number of 1969 models, there were also on request covered headlights. The cars were based on the GM-B platform and they were only available with V8 engines. Their sedan counterpart was the Caprice , and from 1973 the model was also called Chevrolet Caprice Estate . It was the top model in the Chevrolet station wagon range back then.

In the 1969 and 1970 model years, the Kingswood Estate - like all of Chevrolet's large station wagons - was equipped with a rear door that could be opened either sideways or down. For this, the rear window was sunk. When the door opened sideways, the rear bumper was recessed to facilitate third-party passengers getting in and out of the optional roof rack. If the door was opened downwards, there was a fitting in this recess , which was unlocked when it opened on the side and thus released the door.

For 1971, New front Styling a stronger front bumper, a low-set grille and squared-off hood. translucent wood-grain body panels which
