The Chrysler LHS was a sedan offered by the US automaker Chrysler from 1993 to 2001 upper middle class sedan with front-wheel drive .
History
After a year off, the second generation LHS debuted in 1998 and featured a modernized, more rounded cab-forward design with slightly larger dimensions and more interior space. This LHS version was the sister model to the parallel introduced Chrysler 300M , which had a shorter tail than the LHS. The LHS body of this generation corresponded, unlike the first generation, down to the smallest details of the Chrysler Concorde. LHS is a 5-passenger car.Leather upholstery and heated front seats are standard. Controls are well-placed and have good tactile feel, but the gauges are poorly illuminated, making them hard to read at night. Models with light-colored dashboard tops suffer annoying reflections in the windshield, and narrow rear windows make for poor aft visibility. The LHS's trunk is large and has a wide opening.
LHS and 300M use the same front-wheel-drive chassis as the Concorde and similar Dodge Intrepid, but have distinct styling but share a 253-horsepower V6 and automatic trans-
mission; the 300M uses Chrysler's AutoStick automatic with separate gate for manual shifting. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and traction control are standard.
Standard features include steering wheel audio controls and a 3-point safety belt for the middle rear seat position. The new Luxury Group option package includes walnut interior trim and outside rear-view mirrors that automatically tilt down for better visibility when the car is shifted into reverse.
