The Citroën Eole is a concept car presented at the 1986 Geneva Motor Show . The car was entirely designed on a computer.
History
The Aeolus is a concept car based on a platform of Citroën CX , entirely designed by computer from Geoffrey Matthews drawings. This is a defector of Groupe Rootes , a component of Chrysler Europe bought at the end of 1978 by PSA , the parent company of Citroën . It's the first concept car to take advantage of a fully computerized design.
The Eole cuts the Cx of the original model of the same name by over half, to a record 0.17, thanks to optimal aerodynamic work (elongated profile, keeled wheels, hidden door handles). Its suspensions build on Citroen's progress since the Eco 2000: an active hydropneumatic system controls roll, raising the front end in particular to allow the wheels to turn in the corners, and the ground clearance is automatically reduced at high speeds. If the first device is rapidly forgotten, the second, which is extremely popular, will serve as the foundation for the Activa project. Inside, four passengers can relax in a comfortable environment, and the central console has a flat panel that combines PC and phone features. game console , Hi-Fi set and CD player .
