History

The Datsun 15 Compared with the predecessor Datsun 14  had a completely new body . Compared to the older model, the length increased from 2800 mm to 3187 mm and the wheelbase from 1980 mm to 2005 mm. Above all, it benefited from the interior, which could now be enlarged.

The war in Manchuria made it increasingly difficult to obtain the necessary materials . The car used only a little chrome . The look of the front end was based on the shape of the then American cars. The van model was again called 15 Van and the truck / pickup Datsun 15 Truck .

Were previously bumpers only available as an extra, these were standard on the Datsun 15. The 722 cc engine was the same as the Datsun 14, but the compression ratio had been increased from 5.2 to 5.4, increasing power from 15 to 16 hp.

For export, 87 Datsun 15 were sold. In April 1937, the Datsun 16 replaced the model, while the Datsun 15 truck was still under construction until 1938.
