Introduced in Japan in the fall of 1979, the latest Bluebird Series 910 debuted in May 1980 (in the US again as the Datsun 810).

History

The program included a four-door sedan, a two-door hardtop coupe (until 1982) and a five-door station wagon called Bluebird Traveler. The engines were taken unchanged from the predecessor (in Japan there was also a turbo and a two-liter version, in other European countries also a 1.6-liter and in the US under the name Datsun Maxima also a six-cylinder version ).

Since the early 1970s, Nissan has had a strong presence in the United Kingdom, and the Bluebird did well there, though not as well as the smaller Cherry and Sunny.In 1981, a 'Nissan' badge was added to the export vehicles. The name change from Datsun Bluebird to Nissan Bluebird did not happen until 1983 in Australia, where 130,000 910s were made between 1981 and 1986.In early 1981, a two-liter diesel with 44 kW (60 hp)
