The E.torQ is a family of automobile engines produced by Fiat in Campo Largo, Brazil in the ex Tritec factocy.

The E.torQ series replaced the old General Motors 1.8 X18XE engine adopted by Brazilian Fiat vehicles and the old 1.9 Torque engine adopted by Fiat Linea. The E.torQ engines were based on the discontinued Tritec engines but with an investment of 83 million of euros Fiat Powertrain Technologies re-engineering the previous engine and has launched a news series of technology. The engine block has cylinder head fittings separate from the cylinder jackets. The threads are positioned in the upper part of the das water jackets and the connections between the jackets and the outside were kept apart from the cylinder head fittings. The 80% of the torque was available at 1.500 rpm and the 93% of torque was available at 2,500 rpm.

The new family of E.torQ engine was composed by two variants: the 1.6 16V 117 HP and the more powerful 1.8 16V E.TorQ 132 HP available in flexyfuel (petrol or ethanol) version. E.TorQ is a result of over 500.000 hours of projects, 5 millions of kilometres and 1.200 prototypes and pre-roduction version

Production of E.torQ engine began in 2011 and was used in the following Brazilian cars: Fiat Punto, Palio, Siena, Strada, Idea, Linea, Bravo and Doblò.
