The seventh generation of the Ford F-Series is a range of trucks that was produced by Ford in the 1980s.
History
In 1980, The first complete redesign of the F-Series the entire vehicle design was more angular and optimized for lower air resistance, and thus for lower fuel consumption. The grille had a rough honeycomb pattern with (from 1982) the modern Ford logo in its center. With this generation Ford built for the first time a four-wheeled vehicle with a front independent suspension, also galvanized body parts for the first time to protect against corrosion .
From the end of 1983, the smallest version was no longer F-100, but F-150 . The Ford Ranger was from 1982 an independent model and replaced the second model generation of the Ford Courier, From 1982, there was the model with a V6 engine instead of the age-old in-line six-cylinder, this engine did not prevail and was taken out again in late 1983. A new 6.9-liter diesel V8, however, had a longer future.
