The Nissan C80 was a truck that Nissan produced  from 1966 to 1976

History 

The Nissan C8 was above the Nissan Caball and below the Nissan 680 in range . This was then later  replaced by the new Nissan Caball # Nissan Caball C340 1976-1982 .

With the C80 with 2.5-4.5 tonnes payload Nissan filled the gap between the Caball (up to 2 tons) and the 680 (from 5 tonnes payload). The C80 was a cab with a underfloor engine mounted under the seats . The design corresponded to the Caball C240, but there was the C80 in contrast to the Caball only as a chassis with cab for bodies and flatbed . In export, the C80 was also partially marketed as Caball.

The drive was the Nissan H30 petrol engine, which was also installed in the Nissan President , and the Nissan SD33 diesel engine . Power was transmitted via propshaft to the rear axle via a synchronized 4-speed manual transmission , optionally with 5 forward gears. The C80, like the Caball, was a big commercial success for Nissan. The successor model Caball C340 was developed from the beginning on a payload up to 4 tons and was offered as Datsun Cabstar in Europe.
