The Toyota C-HR is a crossover SUV of the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota since 2016.

History

The C-HR is a family compact SUV with modern contemporary design, this has a premium look and feel and featuring a dramatic coupe-style roofline with a full Five-star Euro NCAP rating along with eight airbags. It’s a comfortable car to drive the suspension’s damping is still very good even with larger wheels.

During the Paris Motor Show 2014, the vehicle was first presented as a design study Toyota C-HR Concept. A revised version was presented at the IAA 2015 in Frankfurt am Main, before a series-near variant was available at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.  For the European market the C-HR is built in the Turkish Adapazarı. In China, the SUV will be sold by both the FAW Toyota joint venture and the Guangzhou Toyota joint venture. The vehicle built at FAW is marketed as Toyota Izoa, the vehicle built at Guangzhou as Toyota C-HR.  At the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2019 Toyota presented both the C-HR and the Izoa with electric drive. 

The designation C - HR stands for Coupé High Rider there are four trim levels to choose from. Icon is the cheapest, Design adds 18-inch wheels and heated seats, while the more expensive Excel comes with latest tech gear The GR Sport is the sportiest one and features 19-inch wheels, tinted headlights All C-HRs come with a three-year warranty, along with a 12-year corrosion warranty something unheard of with early Japanese cars.

Small windows make rear feel claustrophobic and Rear visibility not great although foot room in the rear isn’t brilliant Overall the rear just feels smaller inside than it really is due to the design of the low roofline and the dark headlining. Interior storage features a generous glovebox and deep cupholders for front-seat passengers with diamond-patterned door inserts the infotainment screen comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. with Bluetooth. The front seats that are available with heating and lumbar adjustment depending on model.

the C-HR’s boot space is not large at 377 litres but with the seats folded, a better total space of 1,160 litres.

The model is based on Toyota's TNGA platform. The term C-HR stands for C oupé H igh R ider . With the Toyota Verso and the Toyota Corolla, the C-HR has been running since October 2016 in the Turkish factory Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey gasoline engine with 85 kW (116 hp), the C-HR came to launch with that of the Toyota Prius known, 90 kW (122 hp) gasoline / electric hybrid driven the market. 

For the market launch, the vehicle with the 1.2-liter gasoline engine was available from 21,990 euros, the hybrid drive cost from 27,390 euros. From 2020, a 135 kW (184 hp) two-litre hybrid drive, which is also used in the Corolla E210, will be available. Powered by a range of economical hybrid engines there are Two self-charging hybrid options to choose from for both have CVT Automatic transmission options. The basic model is 1.2 litre with 6-speed manual gearbox 1.8 is nippy while the 2.0-litre has impressive performance both returning 50 plus mpg.

Some Toyota Safety equipment included as standard on all versions Lane-departure warning, autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian recognition Traffic speed limits and Sign Recognition shown in the instrument cluster Automatic high-beam operation along with Adaptive cruise control. The higher spec models feature vehicle Blindspot Monitors along with Rear traffic when you’re reversing.

Originally it was planned to distribute the model on Toyota's brand Scion only in North America. With the decision to discontinue this brand, it was decided to sell the C-HR directly through the parent brand Toyota and worldwide. In the US market, this as 148 hp exclusively in the 2.0-liter version. This engine variant is also available in the Asian markets in addition to the turbo engine (1.2 litres) and the hybrid drive (1.8 litres).
