The Toyota Avalon is a full-size sedan built in the US by Toyota and offered exclusively in North America . Until July 2005, it was also produced in Australia and then replaced in November 2006 by the Toyota Aurion . It is a four-door notchback sedan with front-wheel drive. In Japan, the first two generations were built as a Toyota Pronard . The third generation, however, there was no longer there. Likewise, the model disappeared from the market in Australia.

The Avalon made its debut in 1995 as the new flagship of the Toyota line.A well-equipped Camry with an extra-roomy rear seat.The front bucket seats were large and comfortable. The optional bench front seat was comfortable for two The rear seat was very roomy and reasonably comfortable. Safety equipment: Driver and passenger air bags standard. ABS optional in 1995 and 1996; standard starting in 1997.standard daytime running lights, auto-off headlamps, and heated power door mirrors for 1999. Built at Toyota's Kentucky plant, Avalon is derived from the midsize Camry, but has a longer wheelbase, different styling, and a choice of a front bench seat or buckets.

In 1995, the Avalon launched as a completely new model. He was supported by the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown along with the Camry developed on whose platform he was based. The engine is a 3.0-liter V6 with 140 kW, which has made 150 kW since the 1997 model update.The only engine is a version of the V-6 offered in Camry. Automatic transmission, front side air bags, and anti-lock 4- wheel disc brakes are standard. Traction control is optional.

In 1999, the production facilities were transported to Australia, where in 2000 production of the "new" Avalon started. In 2004, the Australian model received a facelift with a modified front end, before production was discontinued in 2005.Also for '99, an engine immobilizer to prevent "hot wiring" is part of an anti-theft system that's standard on the XLS model and optional on the base XL.

visor mirrors, intermittent wipers, automatic headlamps, rear defogger, tinted glass, full-size spare tire, 205/65HR15 tires, wheel covers.

XLS adds: automatic climate control, outside temperature display, 7-way power front bucket seats or power split bench seat with storagearmrest, leather-wrapped steering wheel, AM/FM/cassette/CD player, remote keyless entry, variable intermittent wipers, fog lights, theft-deterrent system, alloy wheels.
