Cord Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles in the 1960s . 

History 

Teacher Glenn Pray founded the company in 1964 in Oklahoma . They also owned the naming rights of the original Auburn-Cord Duesenberg Corporation . Designer was Gordon Buehrig. 

The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Cord.  1967 followed the bankruptcy. A total of vehicles built around 97.Elfman Motors of Philadelphia took over the remnants of the company, but produced no vehicles. 

The first model from the period 1964 to 1966 carried the additional designation 810 or 812  was reproduction of a historic vehicle, and the model name Sportsman . It was a replica of the Cord 810 from the 1930s but front wheel drive.The only body shape was a two-door and two-seater convertible , with options for a air conditioning system a cleaner air system and hardtop roof.

1967 ended production.

 The body was made of Royalex  plastic. body homogeneous thermoplastic laminate derived from styrene (ABS) plastics. like a triple-deck sandwich composed of hard pieces of Royalite the outer layers can textured colored to an infinite variety. (The first hundred of Cords have offered choice Of the fourteen original colors.) The middle layer of the sandwich is the "load-bearing" skin that ig responsible for its high-impact resistance. The Core of the sandwich is filled with tiny nitrogen whieh give the its relative elasticity and serve as a separator for tough outer layers. Under pressure and heated 10 F the cellular core expands to four limes ite original thicknerss. Once cooled. Expanded Pwyatite is inseparable and virtually indestructible. is safer than glass-reinforced which burn easily or fraeture.

A six-cylinder boxer engine from the Chevrolet Corvairwith 87.4 mm bore , 74.7 mm stroke , 2687 cc capacity and depending on the version of 110 hp to supercharged 150 hp powered the front wheels. The vehicle was at 254 cm wheelbase 424.8 cm long.The chasis box-type ladder frame, X reinforcements.The front suspensionhad  independent, wishbones, longitudinal laminated torsion bars, telescopic dampers at the rear rigid axle, semi-elliptic leafsprings, telescopic dampers.
