Comet (Hall Automobile Company) Automotive manufacturer of vehicles manufacturer of San Francisco, California, USA From 1906 to 1911.

Hall Automobile Company previously the Occidental Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles in the early part of the 20th century .The brand name was Comet .

History

Elbert John Hall had gained experience in automotive engineering since 1902. From 1905 he worked in a senior position at the Occidental Motor Car Company in San Jose , California . Here he made his first vehicle in 1907, which he called Comet .

In 1907 the company closed. After that, Hall relocated to San Francisco. In the same year, he started the Hall Auto Repair Company as an auto repair company, as well as the Hall Automobile Company with Walter C. Morris. They built six more cars. Comet kept the brand name. Production ceased in 1908. After that, the company's trace is lost. From 1909 through 1911, Hall produced two cars in response to customer requests. He also formed the Hall-Scott Motor Car Company, which specialised in engine production.

The model on offer had a self-developed four-cylinder engine with Overhead valves made 25 hp from 3293 cc displacement . The chassis had 259 cm wheelbase . The vehicles were carved as an open two-seater roadster with hood. The manufacturer guaranteed 120 km / h top speed . The vehicles were very fast for their time. In August 1908, they won in Santa Rosa seven of eight races in which they were used.

The single piece of 1909 had a six-cylinder engine .The last vehicle was powered by a V8 engine . George W. Scott was the principal.

There was no association with other US automakers with the same brand names: Continental Motors Corporation of Buffalo , Comet Cyclecar , Comet Automobile Company , General Developing Company , Comet Co. and Comet Motors .
